Calendar and Events

Events at our school From exhilarating sports tournaments to captivating cultural showcases, our calendar is brimming with opportunities for students to explore their passions, showcase their talents, and forge lifelong memories. Sports enthusiasts can look forward to adrenaline-pumping competitions such as inter-house athletics meets cricket basketball tournaments. Our state-of-the-art facilities provide the perfect stage for students to demonstrate their athletic prowess and sportsmanship. For those with a flair for the arts, our school hosts a myriad of cultural events, including musical choirs, dance performances and skits. We also celebrate diversity and cultural heritage through special events such as Annual days, Pre-Primary fiesta and Primary wonders where students showcase their varied talents. Additionally, academic excellence takes center stage at St. John’s School through events like science fairs, debate competitions, and spelling bees. These intellectual showdowns foster critical thinking, collaboration, and a thirst for knowledge among our students. Our events are more than just occasions for entertainment—they are opportunities for growth, learning, and community-building.

Science, Art and Commerce exhibition

The science, art and commerce exhibition serves as a convergence point for presenting an enriching mix of intellectual and aesthetic pursuits. Engaging experiments and interactive displays simplify complex scientific phenomena, inviting visitors to delve into the wonders of exploration.

Paintings, art work, and displays created as part of the Art club throughout the year gives a peep into the creative minds behind the works, encouraging observers to interpret and appreciate the aesthetic diversity.

The Commerce exhibition has displays of models explaining the complex world of business, finance, and entrepreneurship. Attendees gain valuable insights into emerging trends in commerce, financial management, and technological advancements that shape the contemporary business landscape.

Student  council

To promote leadership qualities and to represent the interests of the students, St. John’s has a vigorous student council, comprising of Head Boy, Head girl, Sports Captain and Vice-Captain, Cultural captain and Vice-Captain, Captains and Vice-Captains of all the four houses. The students are conferred the titles in a Glittering Investiture Ceremony.

Annual Day Celebrations 

Every year in the month of December a rainbow of colors unfurls on the stage as we celebrate our Annual Day with great zest, enthusiasm and fervor. The evening is reserved for a gala presentation of dance, singing and mime. The Annual Report will be presented, which highlights the school’s achievements in academic, sports and co-curricular activities. Previous year’s theme was Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The world is one family. Dance performances depicted different religious celebrations and pertinent global issues. The Annual Day was a fitting way to bid farewell to the previous academic year with a celebration of felicitation, feast, and festivity.

Trips & Excursions

Whether it's a visit to a local museum, a field trip to a botanical garden, or an outdoor adventure, our school trips aim to inspire curiosity, foster teamwork, and promote experiential learning. Students have the chance to immerse themselves in new environments, engage with real-world concepts, and forge lasting memories with their peers. Students of Grade 1 and 2 had a day of fun in Cubbon Park, while students of Grades 3, 4, and 5 visited Janapada Loka. It was a day spent with wild animals and nature for students in grades 6, 7, and 8 during their visit to Bannerghatta National Park. Students in Grades 9, 10, and 11 visited the historical city of Mysore, making it an educational as well as a fun-filled trip with their friends and teachers.

Sports Day

Months of dedicated practice and steadfast commitment culminated in a breathtaking display of talent across a multitude of sporting events. From the thunderous applause of the crowd to the triumphant victories on the field, Sports Day epitomized the spirit and teamwork ingrained within our school community. Over the course of three exhilarating days, students from the Pre-Primary, Primary, and High School divisions showcased their athletic prowess. This exemplified the emphasis that St. John’s School places on holistic development by giving equal importance to sports and academics.The enthusiasm of our Primary students was palpable as they eagerly participated in events such as the 100m race, loop race, and sack race, while our Pre-Primary champions radiated joy and energy in running race, hurdle race, jellyfish race, and cycle race. Meanwhile, our High School students exemplified true sportsmanship as they competed fiercely in various games, all the while cheering on their peers with unwavering support. Whether it was the Relay race, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, throw ball, or dodge ball - each moment was a testament to the resilience and determination instilled within every student. As we look back on the memories forged and the invaluable lessons learned, we fondly reminisce on the values of sportsmanship, perseverance, and camaraderie that illuminated this extraordinary day in the St. John's annual calendar. Community Out Reach Program

As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering empathy and community connection, students from our school visit old age home every year. This initiative was driven by our school's values of compassion, kindness, and respect for our elders. During the visit, our students have the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations, share stories, and participate in various activities with the residents of the old age home. From singing songs to learning about the hardships they face, our students embraced the opportunity to spread joy and companionship. St. John’s School, we are proud to instill values of compassion and social responsibility in our students, empowering them to become compassionate leaders and active contributors to our community.

Competitions 

Participating in competitions not only allows students to showcase their talents but also fosters teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. At St. John’s we have competitions which challenges students in different arenas. This year saw our high school students taking part in Slogan /Poster making, Elocution Spell bee, Cartoon scripting, Rangoli, Wall hanging, Debate, Pick and speak, Standup comedy, Essay writing, Kite making, Radio Jockey and poetry writing. Our pre-primary and primary students took part in Environment day, Rhymes recitation, Flag making, Colouring, card making, Storytelling, Vegetable printing, Singing, Handwriting, Kite making, Show and tell, Spell bee, Collage making, Quiz, and Diya making competitions.

Primary Wonders

The process of preparing for and executing a stage performance involves overcoming various challenges, such as memorizing lines, mastering choreography, or singing in rhythm with others. Successfully navigating these obstacles builds resilience and self-assurance, bolstering confidence levels. The “Primary wonders” provided our students with exactly that opportunity to prove their mettle. The unforgettable melodies, their mesmerizing moves, and captivating performances left an indelible mark on the audience. Though the curtains may have closed on this spectacular event, the memories and moments shared will continue to resonate in our hearts forever. Kindergarten Fiesta

The Pre-Primary fiesta was indeed a visual treat. Browse through our gallery to catch glimpses of the delightful yoga poses, trendy fashion shows, and adorable fruit and vegetable fancy dress parade. Each snapshot captures the innocence and charm of our little stars as they stole the spotlight with their creativity and talent. Feast your eyes on the colorful costumes, graceful movements, and infectious smiles that filled the air during the dance performances. Our tiny dancers brought the stage to life with their passion and energy.
